2 sisters killed in fatal head-on crash

Two sisters from Forest City instantly died after their vehicle slammed head on into another vehicle in Crystal Lake on Saturday, January 25.

According to reports, the car accident happened at around 11 a.m. when the eastbound vehicle of 19-year old Tiffany and 15-year-old Chyann Banta crossed into oncoming traffic and slammed into an approaching vehicle at B14 and Maple Avenue. The two sisters were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as 68-year-old Steven Hanna, did not sustain injuries in the crash.
