Elderly man died in pedestrian accident

The man struck by a vehicle while walking on a crosswalk lane in Iowa died on June 4, the Sioux City Journal reported.

Robert Ibsgaard, 70, on May 29 was walking on a pedestrian lane across Hamilton Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle operated by Mark Beltran. The 22-year-old driver reportedly fled the accident scene, but authorities later found him. Though charges of not yielding on a pedestrian lane, fleeing the accident scene, and driving with an invalid license were filed against Beltran, police may file additional charges against him. The incident continues to be investigated.

Pedestrian fatally struck in Dubuque County

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle operated by a drunken driver in Dubuque County, an article by kwwl.com stated on April 6.

Reports from local Sheriff’s deputies show that the deadly accident occurred at around 2:00 a.m. on April 6 on Highway 20 when an unidentified pedestrian was struck by a vehicle driven by Alex Hannan. The pedestrian succumb to death due to critical injuries sustained in the crash.

A charge of driving while intoxicated was filed against Hannan, and he was booked in Dubuque County Jail.
