Thousands of Chrysler vans recalled

Posted on Saturday, February 15th, 2014 at 4:57 pm

Nearly 10,000 Chrysler vans are being recalled due to a design defect.

Reports indicate that the accelerator pedals of 9,655 Ram ProMaster Vans could become stuck while accelerating. Chrysler spokesman Eric Mayne said the problem was discovered at a Chrysler test track.

Incidents of crashes or injuries involving the affected vans were not reported. Chrysler will repair the accelerator pedal for no cost to the car owner.

Chrysler to recall SUVs with air bag and seatbelt defects worldwide

Posted on Thursday, June 6th, 2013 at 4:39 pm

Automaker giant Chrysler recently said they will recall 630,000 SUVs, an announcement that came only two days after disputing a federal request to recall 2.7 million Jeeps with gas tank defects.

Chrysler will recall Jeep Patriots and Compass small SUVs worldwide to repair its seatbelts and air bag related problems. The transmission fluid leaks of some 221,000 Jeep Wranglers will also be addressed. Starting in July, Chrysler dealers will repair the software error in the air bags, seatbelt mechanisms, and transmission fluid leaks in the recalled vehicles for free.

On June 4, Chrysler refused a federal request to recall 2.7 million SUVs with gas tanks placed at the back of the rear axle. The recall was requested due to the risk of the vehicle catching fire.
