Cedar Rapids Design Defect Lawyer
We hear about defective products every day from our friends, the news, and other sources. And yet, we often fail to consider the danger that these products may pose. We place a great deal of trust in those responsible for bringing us the products that we use in our daily lives; if those products do not work as intended, serious injuries can result.
If you or a loved one has been injured while using a defective product, contact a Cedar Rapids design defect lawyer from Leehey Olson Law, P.C., at (319) 294-4424 and we will evaluate your case.
Design Defects vs. Manufacturing Defects
Whereas manufacturing defects involve an error somewhere in the production process, a design defect is slightly different. A manufacturing defect may include a tire with a flawed composition of rubber, causing it to explode, or peanut butter produced in an unclean facility, causing it to be contaminated with a bacteria. Design defects, however, are as the name implies, products that were improperly designed, causing them to be faulty from the ground up.
A ladder whose rungs are designed to be made out of Styrofoam instead of metal or wood would clearly be incapable of holding up someone’s weight. A chair designed with three legs would more than likely tip over the moment someone sat in it; both of these products would be defectively designed.
Product designers have a strict liability for the goods they design and create, and you may be owed compensation for any injuries that result from the use of those products. You deserve compensation if you have been injured by someone else’s negligent and careless work.
If you have used a defective product and have suffered an injury as a result, contact the Cedar Rapids design defect attorneys of Leehey Olson Law, P.C., at (319) 294-4424 and we will fight for your legal rights and hold those responsible for your injuries accountable for their actions.
