KCRG-TV reports, "One man was hurt when his motorcycle collided with a car early this afternoon in northeast Cedar Rapids." The motorcyclist has a shoulder injury and limped into Casey's Store to report the accident. An ambulance was later called to take him to the hospital.

According to KCRG-TV, "The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. on Council Street NE, just south ofBlairs Ferry Road NE. Lt. Jeff Hembera said the driver of the car pulled into the motorcyclist’s path, causing the wreck." The driver said he did not see the motorcyclist because of heavy traffic. The car had minor damage, including the loss of the driver's side mirror.

Authorities are thankful the biker was wearing a helmet.
