Last Friday, a single-motorcycle accident left a 22-year-old motorcyclist severely injured in Sioux City. He was transported to a nearby hospital, and days later he was pronouced dead from his injuries.
The man sustained these life-ending injuries after he was speeding on his motorcycle near 4th and Iowa Street. He collided with the edge of a pick-up truck, and was thrown into the air. One witness stated that the motorcyclist landed roughly 50 feet from the site of the accident, and his motorcycle traveled around 100 feet before coming to a stop.
While he was in the air, the man lost his helmet, as well as his shoes, and therefore suffered severe injuries on his landing. The truck driver involved in the motorcycle accident was not injured. The accident is still under investigation by local police.
