Iowa pedestrian fatalities on the rise

Posted on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012 at 12:55 pm

Motorcycle fatalities and pedestrian fatalities are rising in the state of Iowa.

From January 2012 through August 2012, there have been 42 motorcycle deaths, and 10 pedestrian accidents that resulted in a fatality. Both of those numbers are larger than the number of deaths that were recorded the previous year during the same time frame.

Cooler temperatures encourage more individuals to take advantage of walking and riding motorcycles. This reason can directly cause a surge in fatal accidents throughout the state. It is important for motorcyclists to stay alert and attentive while operating their bike, and also for pedestrians to proceed with caution near busy roadways.

If you were struck by a vehicle, and sustained serious injuries, you may be entitled to compensation for your suffering. Please contact the pedestrian accident lawyers of Leehey Olson Law, P.C. by calling (319) 294-4424 today.
